Job brief
We are looking for an electrical engineer who will help us advance our electrical products, systems, and applications.
On a daily basis, you’ll carry out various engineering tasks, such as performing calculations to ensure our systems meet the global safety standards and collaborating with technicians and computer programmers to solve emerging issues. You’ll also research on manufacturing processes and analyze data and trends to create new products.
Ultimately, you will improve our company’s products and processes and contribute to its growth.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and testing electrical equipment and systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability.
- Analyzing electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Directing and coordinating manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Performing detailed calculations to establish standards and specifications.
- Using computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
- Supervising or training project team members as necessary.
- Estimating material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation purposes.
- Key Tasks and Duties
- In their daily operations, Electrical Engineers undertake a variety of tasks that include:
- Inspecting completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Planning and implementing research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
- Maintaining electrical equipment.
- Working with project managers on production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
Requirements and skills
- Proven expertise as an electrical engineer
- Hands-on experience using design and calculation software
- Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards
- Problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering can be advantageous for more advanced positions.
